Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On March 9, 2021, at approximately 8:30 PM, a victim contacted SVPD dispatch to report an attempted robbery. The victim advised that while sitting in his parked vehicle with his girlfriend, which was in the 3700 block of Avenida Simi, they were approached by three suspects whom demanded their property. While checking the victim’s pockets, one of the suspects brandished a handgun. When the victim refused to open his vehicle and told his girlfriend to call 911, the suspects fled in a white 4/D Cadillac.
A short time later an Officer was in the area of Los Angeles and Hidden Ranch when he observed what he believed to be the suspect vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the three occupants were detained without incident. The victim was transported to the scene and was able to positively identify the suspects, whom were later identified as Mark Talamante, 20 from Simi Valley, Jack Applegate, 19 from Simi Valley, and Andres Munoz, 19 from Simi Valley. The three suspects were arrested and transported to Ventura County Jail where they were booked for Attempted Robbery, Conspiracy and Committing a Crime for the Benefit of a Criminal Street Gang.
Ventura County Sheriff may release booking photos per their policy.
