INCIDENT: Pursuit/Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Fitzgerald Rd. at Erringer Rd.

On Monday, February 17th, 2020, at approximately 11:09 PM, a Simi Valley Police Officer attempted to pull over a silver Lexus for a red light violation at the intersection of Sycamore Road and Los Angeles Avenue. The driver of this Lexus failed to yield and accelerated southbound on Sycamore Road at a high rate of speed. The Lexus then turned westbound onto Fitzgerald Road and continued to accelerate.
Near the intersection of Erringer Road and Fitzgerald Avenue, the Lexus crashed into the curb and a utility pole. This collision caused significant injuries to the driver and lone occupant. The driver, who is a male, 40 years old, unknown city of residence, was transported to a nearby trauma center. Alcohol may have been a factor in this collision.
This collision caused a power outage in the area. Edison was notified and is attempting to fix the disruption. Traffic Investigators are currently on scene as this investigation continues.
