    Simi Valley | Wanted Suspect Arrested after Fighting with Officers

    On January 5, 2021, at approximately 8:30 PM, SVPD Officers responded to the 3200 block of Wilmot St. in reference to a suspicious incident now after a reporting party advised dispatch that a subject was trespassing inside their residence. While enroute to the scene the disturbing party, Grant Blanchette 38 years old from Simi Valley, also called 911 and began making bizarre statements about the FBI and narcotics use.

    Responding Officers were already aware that Blanchette was currently wanted in reference to a felony supervised release violation and he was located to the front of second residence in the 3200 block of Wilmot St. Blanchette was immediately uncooperative and attempted to enter the front door of this second residence, where he does not reside. As Officers attempted to take Blanchette into custody he began to violently resist arrest. Blanchette was eventually taken into custody with the assistance of several additional Officers. Blanchette was booked at Ventura County Jail for his Felony Supervised Release Violation, Resisting an Officer with Violence, Battery on a Peace Officer and Resisting Arrest.
