Six Juveniles steal Vehicle — Vandalize property in Camarillo

On August 7, 2017, deputies from the Camarillo Police Department were investigating a vehicle theft that occurred in the 600 block of Temple Avenue. Camarillo deputies advised Thousand Oaks Police patrol units of the vehicle description and possible destination. Thousand Oaks patrol deputies located the vehicle. Six juvenile occupants were taken into custody.
On August 7, 2017, at approximately 5:00 AM, Camarillo Station deputies responded to a location in the 600 block of Temple Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle. Once on scene, deputies determined six juvenile suspects entered the secured yard of the business and began tampering with and vandalizing several vehicles parked at the location. The suspects then entered a truck parked at the location and were able to start it. They used the truck and intentionally rammed a closed gate and fled the location. Damage to the gate was determined to be in excess of $3000.00.
Patrol deputies learned the vehicle might be headed south on US 101. Thousand Oaks Patrol Units were made aware of the stolen vehicle possibly passing through their area and units began checking the area. At approximately 8:00 AM, deputies from the Thousand Oaks Station located the stolen vehicle traveling on surface streets in the San Fernando Valley near DeSoto Avenue and US101. An enforcement stop was conducted and all six juveniles were taken into custody without incident. All six juveniles were lodged into Ventura County Juvenile Hall and charged with vehicle theft, felony vandalism, vehicle tampering, and trespassing.
The Camarillo Police Department would like to remind the community to lock their vehicles and do not leave keys or any items of value inside their vehicles.
