Snapshots of the Ventura Pier

From Mr. Backer:  “The Pier was damaged and closed to foot traffic.  I saw a piling break off and get tossed in the air by a wave.  A total of four pilings broke off. We could see the pier shaking.  I am glad it survived. These images were taken on Friday, Dec. 11. Last time anything like this happened was Dec. 13, 1995,  known as “Big Wednesday” the day waves tore the end off the Ventura Pier.  Waves washed away more than 400 feet of the pier and an expensive statue.”
