Mandy Jackson-Beverly was born in Pyramid Hill, Victoria, Australia—population 419—and grew up around the rugged coastline and rolling hills of Tasmania. Upon moving to England, she discovered the tantalizing London fashion scene and fell in love with the concept of the creative collective. Later in Los Angeles, she found her own creative freedom among the thriving, no-holds-barred visionaries of the music video world. Mandy has worked as a costume designer and stylist for an amazing array of creative dynamos including photographer Herb Ritts; directors Joel and Ethan Coen, David Fincher, and Julien Temple; and music icons David Bowie, Madonna, and Tina Turner. She taught art and theater in public high school, is a contributor to The Huffington Post, and reviews books for The New York Journal of Books. These days she lives with her family in Ojai, California, and spins stories for her readers’ pleasure as well as her own. She is the author of A Secret Muse, The Devil And The Muse, and The Legend of Astridr: Birth, and The Immortal Muse. When Mandy’s not writing or reading (she has a fascination with Jung), she’s cooking, painting, or on walkabout—preferably in Italy. Mandy loves to hear from her readers. Beginning as a music journalist turned publicist, Kathleen Kaiser’s career spans almost 50 years of involvement in the most exciting industries of her generation. From rock and roll in the 60s and 70s to the digital/internet revolution of the late 80s and 90s, she has been a marketing professional for Fortune 100 companies, small startups, and conferences/tradeshows around the world. In 1993, she opened Kathleen Kaiser & Associates as an emerging technology marketing company, which now focuses on working with the nonprofit arts communities and marketing for authors. She was named Publicist of the Year in 2016 by the Book Publicists of Southern California for her contributions to the literary community. In 2014, she became the president of the Small Publishers, Artists & Writers Network (SPAWN), a national literary nonprofit. She produces the annual 805 Writers’ Conference. In Ojai, Kathleen has worked with the Ojai Shakespeare Festival, Ojai Studio Artists, Art Walk, Humane Society, Ojai Film Festival, and the Ojai Art Center Theater. Kathleen is a proud fourth-generation small businesswoman.
