    Soroptimist International of Oxnard [SIO] to meet Wednesday, April 20th

    ed arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;”>Soroptimist International of Oxnard [SIO] will meet Wednesday, April 20th at 7:30am at the Courtyard Marriott (600 Esplanade Drive, Oxnard) for their monthly program meeting.

    Guest speaker Chelsea Reynolds will speak about how Soroptimists of Oxnard were instrumental in the formation of the Performing Arts Center in Oxnard, and more specifically, with the amazing fountain. Come and learn about this important landmark of our community.

    Chelsea Reynolds is the new manager of the Performing Arts Center in Oxnard. She previously worked as a performing arts specialist with Maryland National Park and Planning Commission. Her career has been dedicated to “cultivating and promoting community arts through dynamic and innovative program and, management.” Chelsea graduated from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts and received the 2010 Harlem Renaissance Foundation L.O.V.E. award for arts outreach. She was recognized by Prince George’s County Social Innovative Fund’s 40 under 40 in 2013 for her contributions to the field of arts and humanities.   [As reported in Ventura County Star, posted April 7, 2015]

    Founded in 1921, Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women working to improve the lives of women and girls.  Chartered in 1945, Soroptimist of Oxnard provides volunteer and philanthropic service to the community of Oxnard, Ventura County, and worldwide.
