Dr. Jeffers was selected from a select group of board-certified plastic surgeons that demonstrate an ongoing commitment to providing advanced quality care.

“It is an honor and privilege to lead the world’s largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons,” said Lynn Jeffers, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S. “In leading this incredible society, I will work to ensure that ASPS continues to advocate for patient safety and provide members with practice support, educational opportunities and resources to ensure we advance and improve the quality of care for plastic surgery patients.”

Dr. Jeffers joined St. John’s on July 1, 2003, as a board-certified plastic surgeon dedicated to cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, including breast cancer reconstruction. Her passion led her to initiate the Integrated Breast Center at St. John’s (IBC), of which she serves as the Medical Director. The IBC offers a highly specialized multidisciplinary team of breast specialists, physicians, oncology nurses, and therapists who provide integrated oncology care to the community. The center is also a National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) accredited, designated Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, and award-winning leader in cancer care, providing the latest innovative treatments.

White House Presidential Scholar and University of Michigan Medical School alumna, Dr. Jeffers completed her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and earned her medical degree with Distinction in Research. She is also a recipient of the American Federation for Clinical Research Medical Student Award and the American Medical Association Glaxo Achievement Award.

Dr. Jeffers trained in the integrated plastic surgery residency at the The University of Michigan and served as the Administrative Chief Resident during her final year, when she was awarded the M.I.C.R.I.N.S. Microsurgical Instrument Award for Outstanding Clinical Research.

“We congratulate Dr. Jeffers for this achievement within the plastic surgeon community,” said Darren Lee, President, and C.E.O. of St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital and St. John’s Regional Medical Center. “This recognition is a testament to her clinical expertise and demonstrates her passion for improving the quality of health care, which is what Dr. Jeffers continues to provide at St. John’s.”

ASPS is the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world. Founded in 1931, the Society represents 93% of all board-certified plastic surgeons in the U.S., and more than eight thousand plastic surgeons worldwide, making ASPS a global institution and leading authority on cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.
