St. John’s Regional Medical Center & St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital & County Public Health to offer Free Flu Shot Clinics

St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (SJPVH) both Dignity Health hospitals, in partnership with the Ventura County Public Health Agency (VCHCA) are hosting a series of free flu shot clinics for county residents.

“Getting the flu vaccine is one of the simplest ways to protect against the flu virus. Unfortunately, every year, many people in our community do not get the flu shot due to financial need,” says Sr. Suzanne Soppe, Health Educator at SJRMC and SJPVH. “With the help of our partners we hope to reach families and individuals in our community to help them lead healthier lives.”

Flu shot clinics are scheduled at various locations in the community through mid- December. A calendar of clinics is listed below. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone six months of age and older as the most important step in protecting against the flu.
