St. John’s Regional Medical Center to Offer Free Hello Health: Living Well with Diabetes Program

Free pre-diabetes and diabetes self-management program

John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), a Dignity Health hospital will host, Hello Health: Living Well with Diabetes, a self- management program tailored to provide education and resources for individuals affected by diabetes.

This free, six-month program is designed to provide those living with diabetes and pre- diabetes the tools to better manage the disease. The program begins on Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the SJRMC Conference Center (1600 N. Rose Ave. in Oxnard). During this first meeting, participants will receive in-depth detail about the program sessions and corresponding dates.

Enrollment in Hello Health: Living Well with Diabetes will cover the following:

  • Health screenings (A1C, cholesterol, blood pressure)
  • Diabetes Education and Empowerment Program
  • Diabetes basics
  • Self-testing blood sugar
  • Meal planning
  • Stress management
  • Weight management
  • Increasing physical activity
  • Preventing complications
  • Improving relationship with health care team
