Dignity Health’s St. John’s Regional Medical Center’s (SJRMC) Diabetes Education and Support Group in collaboration with Sanofi a leading provider of diabetes treatments are hosting a special session on diabetes management options when diet, exercise and oral medications may not be enough to control blood sugar levels.
The support group will meet on Thursday, March 3 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in Conference Rooms 2 & 4 at SJRMC (1600 N. Rose Ave. in Oxnard). The program is free of charge and will feature special guest speaker and diabetes health champion, Seth Bernstein.
Bernstein will share his personal experience living with diabetes and taking insulin to control his blood sugar. The discussion will also touch upon the role of insulin in diabetes management and the stigma behind it. The goal of the session is to empower patients to familiarize themselves with options available for diabetes management.
This support group is free and designed for those with diabetes and/or individuals who would like to support a loved one in their journey with diabetes.
