Stabbing on the Promenade near Crown Plaza hotel in Ventura

try times; font-size: 16px;”>Last night, sickness July 28th, see at 9m On the above date and time the Ventura Police Department Commander Center received a call from Ventura County Fire Dispatch to assist Ventura City Fire with a stabbing victim on the promenade near Crown Plaza. Officers arrived on scene and located a 29 year old homeless man from Iowa, Bradley Clymer.  He had suffered a stab wound.  Clymer was transported to Ventura County Medical Center for his injuries and rushed into surgery.

A witness was located and identified 32 year old Joseph McCabe originally from Florida, another homeless man, as being involved in an altercation with Clymer.  Officers located McCabe nearby who had the victim’s blood on his person.

 McCabe was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for 245(a)(1) PC. The weapon involved in this incident was not located.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to call the Ventura Police Department at 339-4409.
