Statement from City Manager Nyhoff on resignation of Assistant City Manager Hurtado

press_release_iconOXNARD, Calif.–City Manager Greg Nyhoff announced that Assistant City Manager Maria Hurtado has resigned. Hurtado’s last day with the City of Oxnard is Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016.

“Maria’s leadership was critical at a time when the city was facing extensive financial and organizational challenges. She was instrumental in rebuilding our Finance and Human Resources departments,” said City Manager Greg Nyhoff.

“Maria took a lead role in helping us complete the 2016-17 budget and spent many late nights and weekends working with our staff and auditors to guide us toward financial stability. She was also instrumental in spearheading efforts by the Finance and Human Resources departments toward implementing the 128 recommendations outlined in the organizational assessment,” Nyhoff said.

“She has given her heart and soul to the Oxnard community, and I wish her great success in her future endeavors,” Nyhoff added.
