Road closures and street flooding – Harbor Blvd. between Sanjon Road and the Ventura Pier is closed. San Pedro Street is closed from Harbor Blvd. to Ayala.
Main Street from Mills Road to the Five Points area, and Thompson Blvd. to downtown Ventura have excessive flooding. Motorists are strongly urged to avoid driving in flooded areas. When driving in flood conditions, motorists are advised that:
• Six inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger vehicles causing loss of control and possible stalling.
• A foot of water will float many vehicles.
• Two feet of rushing water can carry away most vehicles including sport utility vehicles (SUV’s) and pick-ups.
Closures at City facilities and parks – The Ventura Pier remains closed. Arroyo Verde Park has been closed due to flooding and lightning strikes.
Sand and bags are available (while supplies last) and residents are asked to bring their own shovel:
