Strong Arm Robbery /Battery in Ventura
On 9/3/14 @1950Hrs, the victims were standing on the sidewalk in the 6000 Block of Woodland St. when the suspect approached them on foot and demanded money. The victims told the suspect that they did not have any money. The suspect then ordered Victim #1 to give him his watch and necklace. Out of fear for his safety, Victim #1 complied with the suspect’s orders and began to hand the suspect his property. While he was doing that, the suspect pushed him to the ground. Victim #2 attempted to intervene, and the suspect forcefully shoved him to the ground as well. The suspect then fled eastbound Woodland St. with property belonging to Victim #1.
Responding officers searched the area for the suspect but did not locate him. Neither victim was injured during this incident. The investigation into this crime is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to call the Ventura Police Department at (805) 339-4309.
