Suspect arrested after Investigation | Selling Heroin in Moorpark

Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release

    Jesus Estrada

On November 21, 2019, deputies from the Moorpark Police Department’s Special Enforcement Detail and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit concluded a two-week investigation into a subject who was selling heroin to residents of Moorpark. The investigation concluded with the arrest of Reseda resident Jesus Estrada.

In early November 2019, patrol deputies from the Moorpark Police Department arrested a subject who had a substantial quantity of methamphetamine. During the arrest and search of the suspect’s vehicle, patrol deputies gathered enough information to identify other people who were involved in narcotics trafficking. The information was passed on to narcotic investigators for follow-up.

Based on the provided information, detectives were able to identify Jesus Estrada as a narcotics trafficker responsible for the sale of heroin to residents of Ventura County. During the two week investigation, detectives located Estrada’s residence and obtained a search warrant for his home.

On November 21, 2019, Moorpark Police and Sheriff’s investigators stopped Estrada as he left his residence. During his arrest, detectives found he had an ounce of heroin and $7,000.

Estrada was arrested for possession of heroin for the purpose of sales. Detectives served a search warrant on Estrada’s residence located in the 19000 Block of Lanark Street in Reseda. During the search, detectives seized an additional three ounces of heroin. Estrada was booked into the East County Jail for processing. He has since been released on bail and is pending court proceedings.

Heroin is a contributor to both fatal and non-fatal overdoses taking place in Ventura County. The Narcotics Unit is committed to aggressively target narcotics sales and help combat heroin/opiate overdoses in Ventura County through aggressive narcotic enforcement.
