On April 13, 2021, detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Gang Unit contacted and arrested local gang member 27 year old Oxnard resident, Juan Soto for being a felon in possession of a registered firearm and possession of controlled substances.
Detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Gang Unit were conducting directed enforcement in the Oxnard area. Detectives conducted a traffic enforcement stop of a vehicle in the area of Hueneme Road and Perkins Road. Detectives contacted the driver who was identified as Juan Soto, a local gang member. During the contact, Soto was found to be in possession of a small quantity of heroin and methamphetamine. A search of Soto’s vehicle revealed an unregistered firearm concealed inside a bag. Soto’s past criminal history prohibits him from owning and or possessing any firearms.
Based on the investigation, Soto was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of controlled substances. Soto was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and is awaiting court proceedings.
