Suspicious early morning fire causes $200,000 in damages at Acura of T.O.

buy arial, medications sans-serif;”>On May 15, 2015, Friday, early morning at 4:30am, the Ventura County Fire Department received a report of a fire in the 3000 block of Los Feliz Drive in Thousand Oaks. Fire Department personnel were able to quickly respond and arrived only minutes later at 4:39am. Once on scene, they determined the fire involved several vehicles parked in a vehicle storage lot for Acura of Thousand Oaks. As the fire was being extinguished and due to the suspicious nature of the fire, Fire Department personnel requested the assistance of deputies with the Thousand Oaks Police Department and arson investigators. Shortly after, deputies arrived and assisted in securing the scene as the fire was extinguished.

Arson investigators with both the Ventura County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office responded to the location and conducted an initial investigation. Based on the evidence at the scene, arson was determined to be the cause of the fire. A total of eight cars were damaged, with three being a complete loss. The total damage caused by the fire is estimated to be about $200,000.

The motive is not known and investigators are asking the public for their assistance.
