    YOUR HELP IS STILL NEEDED

Tell Your Legislator to Vote NO on ACA 1,
    We Must Protect Prop 13!

Your voice is being heard! Earlier this month, we asked you to email your legislators and urge them to OPPOSE Assembly Constitutional Amendment 1 (ACA 1), which attacks Prop 13 and would make it easier to raise your property taxes.

Two weeks ago, ACA 1 came up for a vote on the Assembly Floor and it failed. Now the Legislature is scrambling to get enough votes to pass ACA 1 and plans to bring it up for a vote again later this week. We need your help to stop ACA 1 in its tracks and protect Prop 13! Click on the button below to email your legislator to vote NO on ACA 1!

ACA 1 is an attack on Prop 13 that will make it easier to raise your property taxes! The bill would lower the vote threshold from two-thirds to 55 percent for many local bonds and parcel taxes, making it easier for local governments to approve debt. ACA 1 will lead to higher property tax bills for our homes, apartments and businesses by hundreds of dollars a year!

California already has some of the highest taxes in the nation. California also has a $22 billion budget surplus and more than $20 billion in general fund reserves. At the same time, too many families are living paycheck-to-paycheck. Destroying Prop 13 and increasing property taxes will only make California’s tax burden and cost of living even worse. Now is not the time to raise property taxes and increase costs on everything we buy and use.

Share this email with your friends and family. Help us stop ACA 1 and protect Prop 13!
