The Collection at RiverPark’s brings fruitful selection of organic offerings at new Farmer’s Market

Organic produce is in high demand at The Collection at RiverPark, and the leading Ventura County dining and retail destination has attracted more organic vendors since launching its new Farmer’s Market in June.

“We’re proud to deliver an array of vibrant, flavorful and organic produce that has been widely requested by our customers,” explains Jill Almonia, Marketing and Business Development Coordinator for The Collection.

For some of the more traditional produce offerings, Backyard Grown Farms sells an abundance of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries all freshly picked the day before sold. A few booths away, Etheridge Farms/Organic sells a range of fruits that include oranges, grapes, plums, peaches, figs, pluots and raisins.

For a more unique offering, Vision Sprouts sells organic and sprouted microgreens, as well as organic and unpasteurized nuts. A specialty item sold is stone-ground almond butter, which forgoes the traditional process that generates heat and kills the enzymes of the almonds, delivering a more robust flavor. The almond butter is made by using an ancient method known as stone-grinding, which applies pressure with powerful, perfectly smooth granite wheels. The method also preserves nutrients by maintaining a consistently low temperature throughout the entire process.

Also on the cold-pressed juice trend, Juice Budz features its line of fresh-squeezed blends of fruits and vegetables featuring 11 menu flavors. Juices featured are prepared and packaged a day before sold with a shelf-life of 3-5 days.

The new market runs every Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in Park View Court. In addition to selling freshly picked fruits and vegetables grown by a dozen local farmers, consumers will have the opportunity to shop prepared and prepackaged foods, flower vendors and hand-crafted goods.

The Farmer’s Market is being brought to the community through a partnership with California Certified Farmers Markets, in conjunction with the non-profit organization, Raw Inspiration.

raw.inspriation.1About Raw Inspiration
Raw Inspiration’s mission is to educate children and adults on the importance of a healthy diet, especially on the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables daily. To accompany that mission, we have set up a program where growers can distribute their produce at neighborhood farmers markets. Many of the schools in our program are in areas close to the farmers markets where there is a real need to not only grow fresh fruits and vegetables, but to also have a distribution system set up where the schools and growers can choose to market their produce.
