The Left Has Gone Insane

By Sigrid Weidenweber

You might say, Wow! This is a strong statement you are making. But there is plenty of evidence, demonstrating the veracity of these daunting words. Let me begin with a pronouncement by President Elect Biden, as reported by the Epoch Times. On January 8, 2021, Biden promised to “defeat the NRA,” the National Rifle Association during his term in office. He has lived apparently in an altered universe for at least the last forty years. For him to attempt the destruction of this organization, he would have to take, by force, the the weapons of millions of Americans who are standing behind the second amendment. The Constitution, in its Bill of Rights, gives Americans many rights other nations do not possess.

As we seem to get daily closer to more confrontational behavior between the left and the right in this country, such a move by Biden could bring about civil war. Is this a sane thought that a future president should contemplate? I think not. So far, Biden has not told us anything of substance that we might expect from his government with the exception of this bit of threat?

My next example of utter Left madness comes in the presence of the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. For four years Madam Speaker has, with maniacal madness, brought forth trumped-up, unsupported by law or evidence charges, to impeach President Trump. She failed for four years. Now, having barely achieved the speakership, she tries to bring up impeachment again. She does so again, with the same insane zeal and without law supporting her claim. She ignores the psychological tenet, or is not aware of it, that states: repeating the same, self-defeating effort again and again and expecting a different outcome—is madness.

My next example comes from the State of Texas, where State Representative Terry Meza (D-Irving) introduced bill HB 196. In this bill, she clearly shows that Democrats are very much interested in the protection of criminals, and the distribution of wealth among classes. Her bill would repeal the state’s “castle doctrine.” In Texas, and many other states, such bills allow homeowners to use deadly force against armed intruders, who are breaking into citizen’s homes. Here is what Meza had to say about her bill.

“All I am saying is that stealing does not warrant a death penalty. Thieves only carry weapons for self-protection and to provide householders an incentive to co-operate. They just want to get their loot and get away. When the resident tries to resist is when people get hurt. If only one side is armed fewer people will get killed. (She is plainly stating that only the criminals should have a weapon!) Furthermore, under the new law, it is the homeowner’s obligation to flee the home at the first sign of intrusion. If fleeing is impossible, one must cooperate with the intruder. But if there is violence, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to insure that no one gets hurt. The coup de grace following is that the hapless homeowner will and can be sued for any injury the criminal receives. Wow!

To top this insane piece of “law,” Meza, furthermore provides us her reasoning for the new legislation. She states, “In most instances the thief needs the money more than the homeowner does, and the homeowner’s insurance will reimburse his losses. On balance, the transfer of property is likely to add to a more equitable distribution of wealth. If my bill can help make the transfer a peaceful one so much the better!”

So, there you have it! This bill has nothing to do with the law, or right and wrong for that matter. Nothing about protection of your home, about being allowed to protect what you lawfully earned, and the right to be protected from robbery, assault, battery, and rape, nay, it is a bill to protect criminals. Did you notice how benevolently representative Terry Meza alludes to robbers, rapists and killers as thieves? Meza does away with the rights the constitution guaranties the citizens to be safe in your home and your right to protect it. Why should you willingly abrogate your rights so some weapon carrying, perhaps drug crazed criminal can sue you because you defended yourself and your family?

This bill makes it abundantly clear what the new Socialist Democrats stand for: protect criminals and transfer the assets and wealth honestly earned by homeowners—to those said criminals. She calls that an equitable distribution of wealth. Ye gods—even the Communists in East Germany had more mercy on homeowners. They treated criminals so harshly I never heard of an apartment being broken into in the twenty years I lived in East-Berlin.

By the way—I stand with the castle doctrine and follow it.

At this point in time how can anyone seriously think they should publish an article titled “the left has gone insane”?
Think about it for a moment.
What sort of morons do you think the public are?

The Castle Doctrine aka “Stand Your Ground” has been used to justify all kinds of questionable shootings including a man who shot a teenager for stealing his jack-o-lantern, a man jogging through a neighborhood, a teenager walking through a neighborhood eating chips while wearing a hoodie. How many times does it need to be said that Biden and many moderate Democrats support safe and sane gun ownership? Why will you never believe it?

Linda, I understand your point. However, there was a case a few years back where a woman was left raped and beaten and nearly died. When she learned her attacker had been granted parole, she bought a gun. He broke in her home, she shot him. SHE went to prison for premediated murder. Is that fair? There are two sides to every situation. My ex was violent. You better believe I will protect myself!

Ms. Meza is illustrating and acting on South of the Border thinking. In that culture no one is supposed to advance and do well. Theft levels the playing field. I am not trying to be cute here, this is how they think. Her district is majority Hispanic BTW.
