The Real Racists

By Gregory J. Welborn – 3/20//2015

Netanyahu obama israelSo the White House thinks Benjamin Netanyahu is a racist because he urged his supporters to get to the polls to counter the opposition’s program of busing their supporters to the polls.  It’s become more than a little confusing to figure out who’s racist and who’s not.  Apparently when the left targets a minority group (left leaning Arab Israelis) it’s NOT racist, rx but when the right targets a minority group (right leaning religious Jews) it IS racist.  This is the way the left thinks, generic and we’re going to be subjected to much more of it for the remaining years of this president’s term.

Domestically, ampoule and right on the heels of the Bibi-is-racist discovery, we’ve been told that Republicans in the Senate are racist because of their resistance to immediately confirming Attorney General Nominee, Loretta Lynch, who happens to be black.  It can’t possibly be that Republicans have some real concerns about the qualifications of Ms. Lynch.  Senator Dick Durbin, who holds the second highest position in the Democratic Party leadership, accused Republicans of making Loretta Lynch “sit in the back of the bus” because they wouldn’t take up her nomination immediately.

Pathetic dishonesty doesn’t do the senator’s comments justice.  This is the same Dick Durban who led Democrats in the filibuster of Janice Rogers Brown, President Bush’s nominee to be the first black American judge on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.  Her confirmation was held up for two years.  Under the Bibi standard, seems like the Democrats are the racists.  Dick Durban is also the senator who led the attempt to prevent Condoleezza Rice from becoming the first black female Secretary of State.  Again, under the left’s Bibi standard, the Democrats are the racists.

But let’s move beyond the trivial.  In Ferguson, Missouri, a black man was killed under circumstances that were maBrownWilsonnipulated by Democrats for craven political gain to perpetuate an “all-whites-are-closet-racists” image, even though it is Democratic philosophy and policies which are holding down minorities in this country.  Ferguson is back in the news because the Justice Department just released the report on their exhaustive investigation of the whole Ferguson tragedy, and from it we know three indisputable facts.

Fact one – Michael Brown was not an innocent boy.  He assaulted a police officer, attempted to take his gun, and was killed because of his own foolish acts.

Fact two – After an internal investigation, a grand jury investigation and an FBI investigation, Officer Darren Wilson is not just innocent of any wrong-doing, he is one of the true victims here.  His career has been ruined, and he must rebuild a life shattered by egregiously false accusations.

Fact three – The Justice Department is all too willing to allow itself to be used as a political shill and is complicit in the destruction of its reputation.  What’s clear from the Justice Department’s report is that Ferguson’s city government has become a criminal enterprise desperate to ring out of its citizenry every penny possible from penalties, fines and fees for highly questionable citations and arrests.  Citizens’ constitutional rights were routinely violated in an effort to maximize city revenue.  What the Justice Department chose to see, though, was racism simply because most of the victims of the shakedown were black.  If you read the actual report, it’s clear that arrogance and greed, not race, were the motivating factors, and the city leaders were equal opportunity thieves, even bragging about the revenue they could raise from these enforcement actions.

There is no racial crime in getting out the vote; there is no racial crime in delaying confirmation votes on nominees whose qualifications you question; and there is no racial crime in the petty larceny of a small Missouri town shafting its citizenry.  The Justice department missed an opportunity to stand true to its commitment to protect the constitutional rights of all Americans.  As a conservative, I believe deeply in the founding principles of this great country – principles which rightfully are suspicious of government power, and steadfast in opposition to corruption and the taking of wealth for capricious reasons.

HolderLynchThese are the crimes the Justice Department should have called out, and they should do it in Ferguson and in every major city in the U.S., including those here in Southern California.  Governments that abuse their power and extort from their citizens should be purged.

The current administration, and its Justice Department, failed to stand against these crimes because of their own racism.  This is an administration and a Justice Department populated by Democrats who actively work to prevent minorities from having school choice.  These are the Democrats who prevent minority kids from leaving school districts whose failures will keep most of these kids in poverty for the rest of their lives.  These are the Democrats who impose crushing minimum wage laws which do nothing but reduce the number of entry level positions for minorities.

Please do not tell me that Israel is racist, or that Republicans are racist, or that Ferguson is racist.  If you want to find some real racists, look in the mirror President Obama, Attorney General Holder, Senator Reid and Representative Pelosi.  Your words may be sweet and uplifting, but your actions are cruel and oppressive.  What you do to minorities ought to be a crime.
