The Santa Paula Art Museum Is Open

SANTA PAULA, CA – The Santa Paula Art Museum is open again! The Museum and gift shop will be open regular hours: Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors, and free for students and members. For the safety and comfort of museum guests and volunteers, anyone inside the Museum is required to wear a face covering for the duration of their visit (per the California Department of Public Health, this excludes children age 2 years and under, and persons with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a face covering). Visitors must also sanitize or wash their hands immediately upon entry, and maintain 6 feet of distance between themselves and any person not in their party. Groups are limited to no more than 6 persons, and museum staff and volunteers will not be handling cash at this time (only credit or debit cards will be accepted). Santa Paula Art Museum staff and volunteers are adhering to all health screening procedures and cleaning and disinfecting protocols set forth by the County of Ventura, California Department of Public Health, and the CDC.

The Santa Paula Art Museum currently has two never-before-seen exhibitions on view: “Inspiration and Influence” featuring Ventura stone sculptor Duane Dammeyer and Ventura abstract painter Rima Muna; and “Santa Paula Sojourn,” a solo exhibition by Thousand Oaks painter Shannon Celia. All of the artworks in both exhibits are available for purchase. The Museum’s Cole Creativity Center will also host its first in-person art class of the summer beginning July 18. The four-part “Landscapes in Oil – Essential Skills” course will be taught by artist Gabriel Islas on four consecutive Saturdays: Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Saturday, July 25, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; Saturday, August 1, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, August 8, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The cost of the four-part course is $140.00 per person. Space is extremely limited. Preregistration is required.

The Museum will also continue to provide enriching ways to enjoy art at home. Its two free, online class series include “Family HeART Time – Art Stories and Movement with Miss Stefanie” and “The Art of Moving Yoga Class.” Both classes are streamed live from the Museum via Zoom. “Family HeART Time” will be offered on Monday, June 22, 2020; Monday, June 29, 2020; and Monday, July 6, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. “The Art of Moving” will be offered Tuesday, June 23, 2020, and Tuesday, June 30, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Please visit www.santapaulaartmuseum.org for more information or to preregister for a class.
