This Is The Team That Will Be On HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ This Season

The Cleveland Browns will be featured this year on HBO’s yearly series “Hard Knocks,” which follows a football team through the stages of preseason workouts and training camp, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

While the Browns went winless last year, and have gone 1-31 over their last two seasons, there is some quiet excitement surrounding the team this year.

Cleveland, led by new general manager John Dorsey, selected Baker Mayfield with the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft last month. They also added Denzel Ward with the fourth overall pick, and selected Nick Chubb, a highly touted running back from University of Georgia.

They traded for one of the league’s best slot receivers in Jarvis Landry, while also acquiring Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Taylor will probably start the season as the starter to give Mayfield time to learn and grow. The team also signed running back Carlos Hyde.

The Cleveland Browns have only had two winning seasons since 1999, and haven’t made the playoffs since 2002, the longest drought in the NFL.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the featured team during last year’s season of “Hard Knocks.”

Overall, teams that have been on “Hard Knocks” have made the playoffs five times in the show’s 12-year existence.
