On March 20, 2021, at about 6:29 pm, the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a solo vehicle injury traffic collision near the intersection of Rancho Conejo Boulevard and Conejo Spectrum Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the male driver of the vehicle lying on the ground near the wrecked vehicle. The driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries. The driver was treated on scene by medical personnel and transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The initial investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling northbound Rancho Conejo Boulevard and left the roadway just prior to the intersection of Conejo Spectrum Street. There are indications the vehicle may have been traveling at a high rate of speed. The identity of the deceased is pending notification of next of kin by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Deputy Wendell Campbell at (805) 947-8264.
