THREE COUNTY LEADERS JOIN GALLEGLY ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Elton and Janice Gallegly Center Advisory Council is pleased to announce the additional appointments of Dr. Cynthia Herrera, Brick Conners, and Regina Hatcher-Crawford to the Advisory Council.

Dr. Cynthia Herrera is currently the Vice Chancellor of Institutional Effectiveness for the Ventura County Community College District.  Dr. Herrera is known for her   organizational development acumen.  She has received numerous awards for her community involvement, including being named the “2018 Woman of the Year” in Ventura County by Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson.

Brick Conners is currently the City Manager for the City of Port Hueneme.  He previously served for 27 years with the U.S. Navy, retiring from Commander of Naval Base Ventura County. He then served in the private sector in strategic management positions before being appointed to the Port Hueneme position.

Regina Hatcher-Crawford earned her EMBA degree from California Lutheran University (CLU) and currently works for the Department of Defense. She is a known grassroots community leader in Ventura County following in the footsteps of her mentor and father, John R Hatcher III.

Hatcher-Crawford received this years’ “Woman of the Year” award by Ventura County Senator Monique Limon.

The Gallegly Center at California Lutheran University encourages and prepares new generations for public service.  The Gallegly Center is a working office that serves as a hub for students and scholars and will soon house Congressman Gallegly’s archives spanning 33 years in public service.  In addition, the Gallegly Center funds Reagan-Gallegly Fellowships each year for graduate-level students seeking a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration.

Elton Gallegly states, “These three new members join our already exceptional  Advisory Council, chaired by Joan Young, who all have dedicated themselves to a lifetime of public service which exemplifies the objectives of the Gallegly Center for Public Service & Civic Engagement.
