On December 12, 2018, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit concluded a narcotics sales investigation into 48 year old Carlos Rojas Solano out of  Long Beach, who was involved in the transportation of narcotics to Ventura County. 

On December 12, 2018, detectives contacted Solano in the 500 Block of N. Ventu Park Road in Thousand Oaks. Detectives searched Solano’s vehicle pursuant to the investigation. During the search, detectives found a kilogram of “China white” heroin hidden within the vehicle. China white heroin is a higher grade heroin mixed with the powerful synthetic pain killer, fentanyl. Fentanyl is extremely potent, dangerous and has been linked to an increase in fatal and non-fatal overdoses in Ventura County. The China white heroin seized has an estimated street value of $180,000.00 to $200,000.00.

The Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit includes detectives from the Oxnard Police Department, who assisted in the investigation. The Special Investigations Unit is committed to aggressively target narcotics sales and help combat opiate overdoses in Ventura County.

Solano was booked at the East Valley Jail for violation of Health and Safety Code section 11351- Possession for sales of a controlled substance.
