Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
On the afternoon of October 21, 2019, a female high school student reported that a male adult driving a white vehicle verbally contacted the student as she was walking in the area of the 300 block of Avenida De Las Flores. The driver pulled to the side of the road and asked if she wanted a ride. The male made a sexually obscene gesture with his hands and drove away. The student declined the offer and continued walking. The incident was reported to the Thousand Oaks Police Department. School resource officers and detectives are investigating this incident as a child annoying crime.
The vehicle is described as a sport utility vehicle. The driver did not exit his vehicle nor did he come into physical contact with the student. Patrol deputies canvassed the neighborhood and located video surveillance of the possible suspect vehicle.

The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to remind students to be aware of their surroundings and be alert for suspicious activity when walking to and from school. Students are encouraged to say something if they see something. When possible, it is recommended students walk with another person and report suspicious activity as soon as possible.
