TPP Threatens Our Freedoms

The Washington Post Got It Wrong

by Naomi Fisher and Mr R.
Marc L. Busch and Krzysztof J. Pelc’s article in the Washington Post on October 27, 2018, regarding Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), we quote: “Yes, the TPP agreement is over 5,000 pages long. Here’s why that’s a good thing.”

Mr’s Busch and Pelc show a complete lack of understanding of the TPP agreement. Shame! They neglected to do their homework.

Several newspaper articles stated President Obama and Congress agreed to keep terms and conditions secret from U.S. Citizens. Again, if this was such a good thing, why weren’t we allowed access?
“…Obama administration is negotiating a super secret “trade agreement”…he isn’t even allowing members of Congress to see it…this treaty will fundamentally change our laws…”

With dedicated persistence Mr. R. managed to obtain the link to the TPP agreement thanks to the diligent help of The Library of Congress who didn’t give up looking:

Chapter 18, Article 18.3 states: “Appropriate measures, provided they are consistent with the provisions of this chapter, may be needed to prevent the abuse of intellectual property rights by right holders….” Huh?

Wikileaks – Full TPP Documents available here: “Together, the TPP and TTIP will cover more than 60 per cent of global GDP.”
“TPP Treaty: Intellectual Property Rights Chapter – 5 October 2015…The IP Chapter of the TPP has perhaps been the most controversial chapter due to its wide-ranging effects… on internet services, medicines, publishers, civil liberties and biological patents. If TPP is ratified, people in the Pacific-Rim countries would have to live by the rules in this leaked text,” said Peter Maybarduk, Public Citizen’s Global Access to Medicines Program Director. “The new monopoly rights for big pharmaceutical firms would compromise access to medicines in TPP countries. The TPP would cost lives.
    “Article QQ.A.9: {Implementation of this Chapter}
[CL/NZ/VN/AU/BN/SG/PE/MY/MX/CA24 propose; US/JP oppose: 1. Nothing in this Chapter shall prevent a Party [member country]from adopting appropriate measures to prevent: (a) the abuse of intellectual property rights by right holders or the resort to practices that unreasonably restrain trade or adversely affect the international transfer of technology; and (b) anticompetitive practices that may result from the abuse of intellectual property rights; provided that such measures are consistent with this Agreement….”

The key words in both the TPP and Wikileaks: ABUSE BY THE RIGHTS HOLDERS. The way those documents read, anyone from one of the member countries can come in and take over whatever they wish. So, if a different “Party”, took exception to the way property rights were written, marketed, manufactured, packaged or advertised, the complaining “Party” could either nullify or take away those rights! Simply by accusing the rights holder of abusing it. The language in Chapter 18 is so vague it leaves a whole lot to the imagination and gives us no facts to ease our concerns. Nothing we read in that unholy TPP said U.S. Citizens would retain any property rights. And, if our Government tried to protect us, that foreign country could SUE the U.S. Government!

And then there was an article about “The Secret Obama Trade Deal That Could Destroy U.S. Food Safety…” President Obama…a secret trade agreement…allow foreign-produced food that “…does not meet US safety standards to reach grocery store shelves.”…That should have brought criminal proceedings. Critics were saying the TPP could end food labeling and restrict ….

We’ve highlighted sections of Chapters with the most severe legal consequences for all businesses as well as individuals in the United States who own various forms of property. TPP is a danger to our United States as well as ANY Country who signs the TPP! As the TPP is right now anyone who helped create the TPP is an enemy of the United States!

In TPP the language is so ambiguous there are no protections for U.S. Citizens. The “Parties” mentioned throughout refer to member countries with no reference to or mention of citizens rights. After reading everything we could find within the selected chapters of TPP, we decided it is worse than scary. It is terrifying! Question: Would signing the TPP border on or be within legal statutes of treason?

TPP is an agreement between nations to control access and supposedly increase trade. But it gives too much power to multinational companies. Those companies will have complete control over all natural resources, internet freedom, health care, the trading of derivatives, copyright issues, quality of imported food, environmental standards, civil liberties and control over land ownership. The big pharmaceutical companies will have complete control over medications, to extend patents, increase prices and delay generics. Without generics the lower income and third world populations cannot afford medications. (Read the article by Doctors Without Borders and their concerns.) Link:
        -and –

President Trump refused TPP for us. Otherwise my Friends, our Civil Rights would have been destroyed.

Yet, unbelievably, eleven countries did sign: Australia, Brunei, Chile, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Malaysia, Canada and Mexico.

In conclusion we want to say:

The Washington Post, a newspaper where reporters are one sided in their reports, tarnished truths and they blasted President Trump for declining to join the TPP. In truth they should have praised President Trump for not conceding to pressure and thereby saving the people of the United States. Those reporters’ attacks were made even after President Trump publicly said the “trade conditions were extremely unfair, there were too many contingencies and no way to back out”. Repeat: “No way to back out.” Recently when we left voice mail questions for one of the reporters we never received a call back.

Is this what you want America? No way to back out of any TPP agreement as a normal way for our Nation to do business?

We exhort you: Do more research, learn the real truth instead of relying solely on us or on the Washington Post’s twisted version of the truth! Then you, like us, will praise President Trump for his wisdom and strength. Instead of listing all the many things he has done right or wrong while in office we say that declining TPP was President Trumps finest action!

The Washington Post is obviously part of Hillary Clinton’s minions that have stated publicly they wanted us to join TPP. In fairness, Hillary did vacillate. She said, “Yes,” in favor, then “No,” against, and toward the end of  2016 campaign she said “Yes,”in favor of TPP. But of course Hillary and Husband, former President Bill Clinton, President Obama, Senator Biden and so many others have repeatedly stated they support the One World Order. One government, one type of currency. Nothing we read hinted at democracy. Would any part of our Constitution, Bill of Rights and our precious freedoms remain? The TPP is the beginning of One World Order! That’s a frightening concept.

Washington Post is no longer a newspaper. Simply a paper spouting one sided opinions that pays their reporters to report one sided news. A real newspaper reports both sides of an issue. Therefore no truth exists in the Washington Post!

Below are many links to validate TPP is a nightmare:

Many Articles here why TPP is a problem for USA Government and Political Platforms:

“Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP): More Job Offshoring, Lower Wages, Unsafe Food Imports”
“Secret TPP Text Unveiled: It’s Worse than We Thought”

“You like your labor rights and your investment rights? Under TPP. You won’t have either”:

    Quote from New York Times
“…Opponents in the United States see the pact as mostly a giveaway to multinational business…A provision allowing multinational corporations to challenge regulations and court rulings before special tribunals….” partnership

Jim HighTower presented his case against the TPP in front of the DNC has his lowdown here:

Jobs Outsourced, Internet Censored, Companies own people:

In the AmericaBlog Bill Moyers states the TPP is a death for democracy….
TPP Is a Corporate/Investor Rights Agreement”

If you wish to address any of these concerns, contact the White House or your Congress Members.

Addendum: For those who are Star Wars fans and have diligently studied, participated in research, and helped write books or story lines for Star Wars in some way shape or form… consider this. The TPP would be comparable to the laws of the Empire. Consider all your work to help make Star Wars products will no longer be under your control or within rights of residuals. It will all go directly to the Multinational companies and there will be no legal recourse. This is how bad the TPP really is. Just keep this in your thoughts before donning the privileged Dark Empire TPP hat!

Mr. R. said, “If you want me to fix the TPP to call the White House and demand they hire Mr. R. to rewrite TPP to protect the people of the United States.

Seriously, no one has made a comment on this?
Someone has to has some sort of opinion right?
I guess protecting one’s copyright or patents doesn’t rank up there with the other crazy stuff going on in the USA, but still this is just as important.

We agree. That’s why it is here. maybe because Trump dropped it, it has fallen off peoples’ list of concerns.
