Igor Lirtsman was an amazing person. He suffered religious persecution in Russia under a communist government. He for years sought asylum in America but his requests were buried. Through a long process involving Mayor Ed Koch, Gov Cuomo and President Reagan who petitioned Gorbachev on his behalf while in Moscow, he finally was allowed to bring his family to America. He labored hard to provide for his four children. He is a grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is not a faceless victim. Please consider the lives you will change when you drink and drive.
