Trump calls for Fed audit
Presidential candidate Donald Trump today lent his support for the first time to Sen. Rand Paul’s plan to audit the Federal
Reserve on Monday, endorsing the idea in a tweet that accused his rival Sen. Ted Cruz of failing to support it.
“It is so important to audit the Federal Reserve,” the Republican presidential candidate and billionaire businessman tweeted Monday afternoon.
Former presidential candidates Rand Paul and his father Ron Paul before that also advocated a Fed audit. Each tried to pass a bill mandating it, each had widespread support but were defeated, possibly by banking interests.
