Two Visions of America by Don Jans

Trump: ‘Stand Up To Left-Wing Fascist’

Former President Donald Trump, who headlined the annual Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday night in Florida, all but flat-out declared that he would run again for the presidency and that Americans would take their country back in 2024, urging them meanwhile to “stand up to left-wing fascists” in the midterms later this year.

“We are bringing back our country and we are bringing back our freedom,” Trump declared, adding that the “sleeping giant” of the conservative movement is awakening.

“November 2024, they will find out like never before. We did it twice, and we’ll do it again,” he said, in a reference to his contention, and that of millions of voters, that the 2020 election was “stolen.” “We’re going to be doing it again a third time.”

    Damage from Biden

“You could take the five worst presidents in history,” he said at one point, “and they wouldn’t have done the damage President Joe Biden has done in such a short time.”

Noting that America’s streets are “drenched in blood” and that Biden just nominated what he called a “radical left zealot” to the U.S. Supreme Court, Trump added that the United States military was “humiliated” in its disastrous exit from Afghanistan.

“Joe Biden has turned calm into chaos,” he summed up, and “stability into anarchy.”

Speaking mostly extemporaneously for more than 90 minutes, he touched on the crisis in Ukraine, calling President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “a brave man.” He praised him for “hanging in.”

“[The Ukrainian crisis] is an outrage and it should never have been allowed to occur. We are praying for the proud people of Ukraine. God bless them all,” he said.

    Biden: “Weak”

Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine would never have happened had he still be president, Trump asserted.

Calling Joe Biden “weak and grossly incompetent,” Trump blamed him for the crisis in Ukraine, and defended his previous comment calling Putin smart, adding that NATO is looking “the opposite of smart.” He added that sanctions are a weak response to Putin.

“The problem is not that Putin is smart, it’s that our leaders are dumb,” said the 45th president. “They’re allowing [Putin] to get away with this assault on humanity. Putin is playing Biden like a drum.”

Referring to the necessity of dealing wisely with world leaders, especially hostile ones, Trump noted that he got along with Putin, as well as with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un: “It’s not a bad thing to get along with people,” he said.

    Sanctions: Weak

Regarding the weakness of the Biden-Harris administration, Trump referred to the threats of sanctions now being made to Putin not only by Americans, but by European allies as well: “Sanction, well that’s a pretty weak statement. Putin is saying: ‘Oh they’re going to sanction me. They’ve sanctioned me for the last 25 years. You mean I can take over a whole country and they’re going to sanction me? You mean they’re not going to blow us to pieces, at least psychologically?”

Trump added, “They want to say their borders are sacred and we feel for Ukraine in so many ways. But Ukraine’s sovereignty must be defended at all cost, they say, even while they destroy our own borders and surrender our own sovereignty.”

Regarding the virtual invasion of America’s southern border engineered by the Biden administration, Trump promised that the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border will indeed be completed.

Joe Biden did a fine SOTU last night. Stop with the Hannity level cynical nonsense about him and focus on the fact that he has largely returned normalcy to our government, which had taken a 4 year hiatus from sanity. Is everything perfect? No. Is he trying to buy Greenland? No.

With all due respect Mr. Newberger. Joe has made some really, really bad decisions. Most notably: the wide open Southern border, the abrupt and poorly planned exodus from Afghanistan, the cancelling of energy projects being the most notable. Those were/are decisions guided by childish advisors and frankly part of Biden’s diminished mental faculties.
Regarding Trump. If you took away America’s spectacularly biased and flawed mass media, Trump would be accessed much more favorably. I know you know this.
To use an example is your own words. Buying Greenland. Nobody took that seriously but it did not stop you from using it. Another example is drinking bleach. No one took that seriously either, it was said in jest but you know this. Just as the Jan. 6 incident has been greatly blown out of proportion. But you know this too.
When the Mid Term elections come about we will see how how much people have rejected what you apparently believe and what the majority of voters believe. Fasten your seat belt.
