Two Men Charged With 16 Residential Burglaries

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Juan David Vera Mancini (DOB 09/21/76), of Los Angeles, and Brian Patricio Valenzuela Molina (DOB 03/25/97), of Chile, have been charged with 16 counts of residential burglary. Mancini and Molina have been charged jointly with 10 counts of residential burglary. The complaint charges Mancini separately with an additional four counts of residential burglary and Molina separately with an additional two counts of residential burglary.

Between June 19, 2021, and August 11, 2021, 16 residential burglaries were committed in the vicinity of Thousand Oaks and Camarillo. The burglaries were committed in the late evening hours while the residents were away from their homes. After a thorough investigation, detectives with the Thousand Oaks Police Investigations Bureau of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) identified Mancini and Molina as the two suspects responsible for the burglaries.

On August 14, 2021, VCSO detectives located Mancini and Molina, who were in the process of casing homes in the Newport Beach area. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) was notified and deployed a helicopter which captured video of Mancini and Molina entering a vacant Newport Beach home and returning to their vehicle with stolen property. When OCSD deputies attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, the suspects used their vehicle to ram the patrol car and continued driving. After a short pursuit, Mancini and Molina abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. OCSD deputies ultimately located and arrested Mancini and Molina.

Mancini and Molina are both currently in custody in Orange County with bail set at $1 million each. The Orange County District Attorney’s Office has charged Mancini and Molina with two counts of residential burglary. Arraignment on the Ventura County charges is pending a further court date.
