Two Stolen Vehicle Arrests Within One Hour in Port Hueneme

Port Hueneme Police Department Incident Release

On May 12, 2021, at approximately 10:57 AM, an officer on routine patrol was flagged down by a victim in the area of 5th Place and Bard Road, who told the officer that his car had been recently stolen and he had followed it to the area. The officer located the stolen white, Chevy SUV a short distance away and conducted a traffic enforcement stop. The vehicle yielded and the driver, identified as Griselda Diaz, was arrested without incident. She was charged with 10851 CVC Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle and transported to Ventura County Main Jail.

Approximately thirty minutes later, officers located an additional stolen vehicle in the area of Pleasant Valley Road and Ventura Road. Officers attempted to make a traffic enforcement stop on the stolen black, Honda Civic, and the driver, later identified as Isaac Guzman, quickly pulled over to the side of the road and ran from the vehicle. After a short foot pursuit, Guzman was taken into custody. Guzman was charged with 10851 CVC Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle and was transported to Ventura County Main Jail.

As the summer months approach, the Port Hueneme Police Department would like to remind you to make sure you roll up your car windows and lock your doors. Do not leave your vehicles unattended with the engine running. Don’t allow these car thieves any opportunities that lead to you becoming their next victim.
