Update: Cancelled Overnight Full Closures of State Route 126 in Ventura and Santa Paula for Paving Operation

Full closures of SR-126 from Palm Ave. to Hallock Dr. have been cancelled after contractor completed the work at this location. Expect at least one lane to be closed along various segments of SR-126 from Main St. to Hallock Dr. 

Grinding is now scheduled to begin tomorrow and full closures will be needed at various locations from Main St. to Palm Ave. Caltrans will send an update once locations have been determined.

 

Planned ramp closures remain in place.

VENTURA, SANTA PAULA – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced plans to fully close segments of State Route 126 (SR-126) this week for road paving operations and guardrail installation in the cities of Ventura and Santa Paula.

From Monday, December 17 through Friday, December 21, the following planned closures of SR-126 are scheduled in the cities of Ventura and Santa Paula between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

Eastbound:

  • Full closure from Palm Ave. to Hallock Dr.
  • Victoria Ave, Kimball Rd., Wells Rd., Briggs Rd., Peck Rd., Palm Ave., and Tenth St. on and off-ramps.

Westbound 

  • Full closure from Hallock Dr. to Palm Ave.
  • Tenth St., Palm Ave., Peck Rd., Briggs Rd., Wells Rd., Kimball Rd., and Victoria Ave. on and off-ramps.

Closures may start and end later. All closures are weather permitting and subject to change.

Ramps will not be closed consecutively. A signed detour will be posted for motorists who need to continue their commute on SR-126. Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes or avoid the area. Additionally, motorists can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap.

The closures are part of a road paving project on SR-126 that stretches from US-101 to Haun Creek Bridge. C.A. Rasmussen Inc. of Valencia, CA is the contractor.

Caltrans reminds drivers to be “Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
