UPDATE–Ventura: Motorcyclist injured in accident on June 11th passes away

On Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at about 12:08 p.m., the Ventura Police Department Command Center received several 9-1-1 calls regarding a vehicle/motorcyclist traffic collision at Telephone Rd. at Market St. in the City of Ventura.
Officers arrived on scene and located the traffic collision southbound Telephone Rd. just north of Market St. This collision occurred between a black Mercedes SUV vehicle and a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Due to the severity of the collision, the Ventura Police Department Traffic Unit responded to assist in conducting this investigation.
After a preliminary investigation and witness statements it appears that the motorcyclist, 74 year old Robert Moore, was traveling southbound #2 lane Telephone Rd approaching Market St. For an unknown reason the motorcyclist swerved into the #1 lane Telephone Rd. north of Market St. and collided with the black Mercedes SUV vehicle. The driver of the Mercedes (Female 45 years old) was traveling southbound #1 lane Telephone Rd.
The motorcyclist was transported to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries. The driver of the Mercedes vehicle was not injured and released at the scene. The collision is still under investigation to determine if other factors played a role in the accident.
