Upper Ojai Search and Rescue honored at Ventura County Board of Supervisors

Upper Ojai Search and Rescue was honored today at the Board of Supervisors.  Recently the group made news when they were involved in trying to locate missing Arcadia firefighter Michael Herdman.  Mr. Herdman was found on June 27th, 11 days after he disappeared.  His death was ruled accidental.

On the well deserved recognition the rescue group received today at the Board of Supervisors this was from their Facebook page:

Today, all of the County SAR teams were honored by the County Board of Supervisors and Sheriff Dean. The resolution was presented by the Chair of the Board, Steve Bennett who is a huge supporter of Search and Rescue. It’s nice to be recognized and appreciated for our volunteer efforts.
