Vagrant steals property and money at Poinsettia Elementary School

Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release

On February 23rd at 7:45 AM, an employee of Poinsettia Elementary School saw 35 year old vagrant, Jason Sevier in the auditorium of the school holding school property. When asked why he was in the school, Sevier walked away from the employee and off of campus. The employee contacted the Ventura Police Dispatch. A Ventura Patrol Officer and a Ventura K9 Officer located Sevier a short distance away and detained him.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered Sevier had entered school buildings, taken property and money belonging to the school and students and when confronted fled on foot. Sevier also had a syringe loaded with heroin on his person. Sevier was arrested for Commercial Burglary and Possession of Narcotics and booked at the Ventura County Jail.
