As the summer months are approaching, the City of Ojai has seen an increase in vandalism occurring at the Ojai Skate Park and Libbey Park. On 05/21/2021, Ojai Patrol Deputies were dispatched to several vandalisms at the Ojai Skate Park and Libbey Park. The Ojai Investigations Unit, with the assistance of patrol assumed the investigation. On 05/21/2021, at about 1700 hours, a male juvenile was observed vandalizing City of Ojai property using a paint marker. Ojai Patrol deputies and the Ojai Investigations Unit responded to the location and detained the juvenile. During the investigation, the Ojai Investigations Unit linked the juvenile to the vandalism at the Ojai Skate Park, and two additional vandalisms at Libbey Park.
The juvenile male was arrested for the vandalisms and released to a parent/guardian. The cases will be presented to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and Ventura County Probation for filing consideration.

Graffiti and other vandalism can be an eye sore and result in thousands of dollars in damages per incident.
