VC Sheriff’s Deputy says farewell to some very ‘Special’ Athletes
The World games ended and these very special, and very gifted athletes received a warm farewell from Ventura County thanks to Camarillo Deputy Zabarsky.
From the Ventura County Sheriff’s Facebook Page: The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office’s contract cities of Thousand Oaks and Camarillo have been honored to host teams for the 2015 Special Olympics World Games. The World Games ended Sunday and it was time to say goodbye to the new friends we made.
Camarillo Deputy Zabarsky was at the LAX-Bradley Terminal to bid farewell to these great athletes from the New Zealand and Saudi Arabia teams. New Zealand Silver Medal Basketball Team member Zachary Wicht showed his appreciation with a great bear hug. When Deputy Zabarsky found out Saudi Arabia Team member Faisal was a huge Superman fan, he spent the last two weeks hunting down a cape for his new friend to wear home.
Thank you to LAX Police for the escort and support at the terminals.
