    Vehicle Pursuit in Port Hueneme – Suspect Arrested For Stolen Vehicle

    On Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, at 4:45 PM, Officers from the Port Hueneme Police Department located a stolen vehicle as they were patrolling the area of northbound Ventura Road at Hueneme Road. The vehicle was a silver Honda CRV that failed to yield for Officers as they attempted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of 5th Street and Hueneme Road.

    The driver continued to drive northbound on 5th Street. As the vehicle reached the “dead end” of N. 5th Street, it collided into a tree. The driver then exited the vehicle and fled northbound on the bike path towards Pleasant Valley Road. Officers chased the suspect and caught him in the 700 block of N. Ventura Road.

    The suspect was a 39-year-old man from Oxnard. In addition to the stolen vehicle charge, the suspect was charged with resisting arrest and other various traffic related offenses. He was later transported to the Ventura County Main Jail.
