Ventura apartment fire

On November 17th at 11:19 AM,  Ventura City Fire Department responded to a reported structure in the 4700 block of Sullivan Ave.  First arriving units reported smoke and flames from the second story of a 16 unit multi-family residential complex.  Firefighters worked quickly to ensure all residents were out of the structure while additional firefighters worked to control the blaze.  The main body of the fire was contained to the apartment of origin.  Smoke and water damage was present in 2 adjacent units. The rest of the units in the complex were undamaged.  Thirteen adults and three children were displaced as a result of the fire and were assisted by the American Red Cross.

No firefighters were injured as a result of this incident.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
