Ventura: Apparent drug deal gone bad

The female suspect fled prior to police arriving on scene and was last seen fleeing the area in a vehicle.
During the investigation, officers learned that the victim and suspect, along with a male driver, had met near the corner of Sunflower Ave. and Stork St. to conduct an illegal drug transaction. The victim and the suspect got in to a physical altercation, at which time the female suspect punched the victim in the face with brass knuckles. At some point during the physical altercation, the female suspect also stabbed the victim in the leg. She then got into the vehicle which was parked nearby and as the male driver began fleeing the scene, the victim grabbed the suspect through the door of the vehicle and was dragged for several feet before letting go.
After being treated by Ventura City Fire personnel at the scene, the victim was transported to VCMC for treatment of non-life threatening injuries to his leg and scratches to his body from being dragged by the vehicle.
Officers checked the area and were not able to locate the suspect. The investigation into this crime is on-going. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ventura Police Department.
