Ventura: Arrest made in vehicle burglary

The Ventura Police Command Center received a 911 call at 3am Saturday morning, abortion June 21st, discount   from a victim who advised they had just witnessed their vehicle being burglarized in a  parking structure.  The victim was able to give a description of the suspect’s vehicle.

Officers responding to the call learned the suspect had fled onto the freeway at a high rate of speed.  Additional patrol officers monitored the freeway for the suspect vehicle and it was located driving at a high rate of speed.  Officers were able to catch up and follow the vehicle, and eventually initiated an enforcement stop after the suspect exited the 126 freeway at Kimball.  Officers detained the suspect, who was positively identified and found him to be in possession of the victim’s stolen property, as well as burglary tools.

The suspect, identified as Manuel Alamillo a 39 years old Santa Paula Resident,was placed under arrest and booked at the Ventura County Jail for being in possession of stolen property, vehicle burglary, possession of burglary tools and reckless driving.  The recovered property was identified and returned to the victim.

The Ventura Police Department would like to remind everyone not to leave valuables visible inside your parked vehicle.
