Ventura–Arson suspected in vehicle fires

find times; font-size: 16px;”>On Tuesday night close to 10pm, see   the Ventura Police Command Center received a call from numerous residents in the area reporting two vehicles on fire in the driveway of a house in the 7800 block of Costa Mesa St..  The vehicles were in close proximity to the residence and the structure was in immediate danger of catching fire.  Residents of the home were evacuated.  Ventura City Fire personnel arrived on scene and safely extinguished the fire, protecting the structure.  Both vehicles were severely damaged from the fire.

No one was injured as a result of this incident. 

Based on evidence at the scene as well as witness statements, investigators determined that the fire was set intentionally.  The suspect fled prior to police arrival and was not located.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to call the Ventura Police Department at 339-444.
