Ventura | Attempted Robbery, Battery, Gang Enhancements, and Parole Hold Arrest

On 11/27/18, at approximately 11 PM, Ventura PD received a call of an attempted robbery that had just occurred. Ventura PD patrol responded and contacted the victim.

The victim (name withheld) reported that he was walking in the area of Sheridan Way and Simpson when he was confronted by two subjects. One of the subjects challenged the victim and then demanded his property under threat of force. When the victim refused to provide any property, the same suspect attacked the victim. The victim was able to escape without injury and notified the police after he arrived home.

The Ventura PD Special Enforcement Team began investigating this case and identified the main suspect as Isaac Lopez 23 years old, Ventura Resident, at approximately 2:55 PM, Lopez was located in public and arrested without incident.

Lopez was interviewed, transported to the Ventura County Jail, and booked for 664/211 PC – attempted robbery with a 186.22 (b) PC – gang enhancement, 242 PC – battery with a 186.22 (d) PC – gang enhancement, and a 3056 PC – Parole Hold.

At the time of his arrest, Lopez was on active parole for 245 PC – assault likely to cause great bodily injury and 186.22 PC – gang enhancement.

The Ventura Police Department urges all victims and witnesses of gang related crime to contact the police department and report those incidents.
