Incident: Student with Gun on Campus Arrest

Location: Pacific High School 501 College Dr.

    Date/Time Occurred: 10/11/21 0853 hours

    Officer(s) Involved: School Resource Officer

    Suspect(s): 16-year-old male juvenile

    Report #: 21-67828

    Narrative:

This morning Pacific High School administrators received a call just after the start of school from a concerned community member regarding a student who had been posting on social media about possessing a gun. Pacific High School administrators immediately contacted the School Resource Officer assigned to that campus and within minutes the SRO met with administrators. As soon as the student arrived at school, the student was detained by the school administration and the school resource officer. The student was found to be in possession of a handgun.

He was subsequently arrested for possession of a firearm on school grounds and was booked into Ventura County Juvenile Hall.

We understand situations such as this are concerning to parents, students, and the greater community. We want you to be aware that the administration of the Ventura Unified School District and the Ventura Police Department have exercised extreme diligence and have taken all proper actions in the best interests of our students, faculty, and community.
