    Ventura City Fire was dispatched to a reported vegetation fire in the Ventura River area. The first arriving unit found active fire in the Ventura River between the 101 and West Main Street bridges. Additional resources were immediately requested to help extinguish the fire. Units were able to utilize hose lines to quickly surround the fire to stop forward progress. Units remained on scene to perform mop up to confirm the fire was completely extinguished. Approximately ¼ acre of brush was burned and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is currently under investigation.
