Ventura–Cab driver robbed at gunpoint

Ventura: Saturday morning on April 5th 15 minutes after midnight the victim was working for “A Cab” Company and picking up a fare in the area of Victoria ventura.policeAve. and Valentine Rd. Suspects, two male Hispanics in their twenty’s, one described as being 140 lbs, brown hair and wearing a black hoodie and black pants, the other a male Hispanic 120 lbs, black hair wearing a black jacket black pants and white tee shirt entered the victim’s cab.  They requested the driver head towards the City of Santa Paula. As the victim was driving eastbound on the 126 freeway between Kimball Rd and Wells Rd., one suspect displayed a black unknown caliber or style handgun. 

The suspect pointed the handgun at the victim (a male Hispanic Oxnard resident, name withheld) and demanded his property and cash.

The victim immediately pulled over on the eastbound 126 freeway just east of Kimball Rd.  In fear for his safety, the driver complied with the suspect’s demands. Both assailants then exited the cab and fled on foot with the victim’s belongings (undisclosed).

The driver went to 800 S. Victoria Rd. and called 9-1-1 to report the incident. Responding patrol officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. Nobody was injured during this incident. The investigation into this crime is ongoing. Anyone with related information is urged to call the Ventura Police Department at 339-4441.
