Ventura: Children return home to find a Stranger eating in their Kitchen

On January 31st at 3:10 PM, , the Ventura Police Department Command Center received a 911 call from a caller reporting that his children arrived home and found the suspect, later identified as a 33 year old  vagrant from Ojai, Tnisha Meadows, inside the kitchen of the residence, drinking and eating their food.  Meadows had also opened some packages that had been delivered to the residence and left on the front porch.  While still on the line with the dispatcher, the caller followed Meadows after she left the residence on foot.  Responding officers located Meadows and took her into custody without incident.   

During the investigation, officers learned that Meadows entered the residence through an unlocked front door.  When the victim’s children arrived home, they called their parent, who then went to the residence and called the police.    

Meadows was arrested and booked into the Ventura County Jail for residential burglary.  

No one was injured as a result of this crime.  

The Ventura Police Department would like to remind residents not to be a victim, and lock all their doors and windows.  Also, if they see suspicious persons in their neighborhood, please call and report the activity.
